Awarded The BrandLaureate International Personality Award 2016, (equivalent to a Grammy) as a world class wildlife photographer by The Asia Brands Foundation, receiving the award alongside Adele, Keanu Reeves and John Simpson.
David has appeared in the BBC's Rhys Jones Wildlife Patrol, UK and International series to which he was also wildlife cameraman, consultant & photographer. He has also appeared on BBC's Springwatch, ITV's Coast and Country & BBC South Today. Radio appearences include BBC Radio Wales, BBC Radio Solent, BBC Hereford and Worcester and Jurrassic Coast Radio.
Winner of the 2011 Welsh Wildlife Photographic Awards, finalist of the 2014 European Wildlife Awards beside receiving many other credits for his work.
Based in the south of England he travels the UK photographing and working with wildlife projects, some of his work being featured in the BBC's online Wildlife Magazine.
He is considered one of the UK's most experienced brown hare photographers which David admits to being his favourite subject.
David has held a number of exhibitions including The New Forest Heritage Centre, Lyndhurst in September/October 2019, which at the time was the most successful exhibition ever held at the venue.
His first book called Wildlife Wanderer was released March 2017. His second book, Wildlife Wanderings (Halsgrove, published October 2020) with jacket cover blurb by the iconic Dr Jane Goodall, rear blurb by Bill Oddie, foreword written by world famous palaeontologists Dr Steve Etches. Through Pinewood film producer Pete Sheppard, David Attenborough read the preprint proofs.
David Bailey has written features for The Countryman Magazine, Blackmore Vale Magazine, Dorset Magazine plus others.
Invited by the renown explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes to the Houses of Parliment, he is involved with the Westminster cross party bill to ban trophy hunting imports.

A popular speaker within National Trust, RSPB and other groups he is very experienced at presenting talks with PowerPoint and in doing so has raised thousand of pounds for different organisations and charities.
The fact that David presents talks is all the more remarkable as he was born with an extremely high roof to his mouth, nearly a cleft palate with misaligned teeth. At the age of four years old all he could verbally make was a series of noises.
Fourteen years of speech therapy followed at Odstock Hospital (now named Salisbury Hospital) and suffered years of dental work for the same number of years.
